RAFFLE RULES AND REGULATIONS

Official Raffle Rules
1. GENERAL INFORMATION
1.1. The Lake Jeff Conservation Association ("Organizer"), a registered nonprofit organization in the State of New York, is conducting a raffle to raise funds for its charitable programs.
1.2. The raffle will run from March 15, 2025, to December 20, 2025.
1.3. All proceeds will support LJCA expenses incurred in working on the future of Lake Jeff and the safety of homes and businesses downstream from the dam.
1.4. The raffle is conducted in compliance with the laws and regulations of the State of New York.
2. ELIGIBILITY
2.1. Participants must be at least 18 years of age at the time of ticket purchase.
2.2. The raffle is open to legal residents of the United States, except where prohibited by law.
2.3. Officers, directors, and employees of the Organizer, as well as their immediate family members (spouses, parents, children, and siblings), are not eligible to participate.
3. TICKET INFORMATION
3.1. Each raffle ticket costs $25, or participants may purchase five (5) tickets for $100.
3.2. Tickets are available for purchase from March 15, 2025, until December 20, 2025, at 11:59 PM (EST).
3.3. Tickets may be purchased online, in person at designated locations, or from authorized representatives of the Organizer.
3.4. There is no limit to the number of tickets an individual may purchase.
4. PRIZES
4.1. The prize, a Segway UT6, will be announced by the Organizer before the start of the raffle.
4.2. Winners will be drawn on December 21, 2025 via Betterworld.org
4.3. All prizes are awarded as-is, with no express or implied warranties.Prizes may not be substituted, exchanged, or redeemed for cash unless specified by the Organizer.
5. DRAWING AND WINNER SELECTION
5.1. The winners will be selected through a random drawing.
5.2. The drawing will be conducted fairly and transparently, ensuring all eligible entries have an equal chance of winning.
5.3. Winners need not be present to win.
5.4. The results of the drawing will be publicly announced on our website and through our social media sites within 24 hours.
6. WINNER NOTIFICATION & CLAIMING PRIZES
6.1. Winners will be notified via phone and/or email within five (5) business days of the drawing.
6.2. If a winner does not claim their prize within 30 days of notification, the prize may be forfeited, and an alternate winner may be drawn.
6.3. Winners may be required to complete a W-9 tax form, provide proof of identity, and comply with federal and state tax regulations before receiving their prize.
7. TAXES AND LEGAL COMPLIANCE
7.1. Winners are responsible for any applicable federal, state, and local taxes on their prizes.
7.2. The Organizer will comply with all IRS reporting requirements and will issue a Form W-2G
7.3. The raffle is conducted under New York State laws, and all disputes shall be resolved under New York jurisdiction.
8. LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY
8.1. By purchasing a ticket, participants agree to release and hold harmless the Organizer, its officers, directors, and affiliates from any liability related to participation in the raffle or acceptance of any prize.
8.2. The Organizer is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged tickets, or any errors in drawing, notification, or announcements.
9. PUBLICITY RELEASE
9.1. By accepting a prize, winners grant the Organizer the right to use their name, likeness, and city/state of residence for promotional purposes, without additional compensation, except where prohibited by law.
10. MODIFICATIONS & TERMINATION
10.1. The Organizer reserves the right to modify or cancel the raffle due to unforeseen circumstances, legal requirements, or insufficient ticket sales.
10.2. Any changes will be announced publicly on our website LakeJeff.org
